unbuilt

the manifesto

Unbuilt is named after the gap: the space between the idea you have and the thing that exists, with people using it. Building is only the middle of that gap. These are the rules for crossing the whole thing.

Building is the easy part now

With AI, open-source tools, and everything else available to us, you can go from idea to working product remarkably fast. The scarce things are honest validation before you start and real distribution after you ship. That's what a community is for.

Validate before you build

One honest conversation with the right person is worth a month of building in the dark. Ask early, ask often, and treat 'nobody wants this' as a gift received cheaply.

Show the work, not the highlight reel

Revenue screenshots teach nobody anything. The decision at the fork, the approach that failed, the constraint you designed around. That is the part worth sharing.

Your first ten users are people, not traffic

Distribution isn't a growth hack. It's relationships. Help people, show your work, and launch to a room that watched you build it and wants you to win.

Curiosity is the entry ticket

You don't need to be a developer or have any technical background. Learners, creators, founders, and the simply curious belong here exactly as much as engineers do.

Be useful before you are impressive

The fastest way to belong here is to answer somebody's question. Status in Unbuilt is earned by helping, not by follower count.

If this sounds like your kind of room

It exists, and there's a seat with your name on it.
